Aula Harmoniae will be giving a “one time only” New York concert before bringing the beautiful music of François Couperin, José Herrando, Marin Marais, Johann Joachim Quantz and Jean-Philippe Rameau to South Korea this October.  One of the highlights of the concert will be the Flute Sonata by José Herrando, a great 18th Century Spanish violinist/composer well known for his violin treatise, Arte y puntual explicación del modo de tocar el violín con perfección y facilidad (Paris, 1756).  Originally a violin Sonata, it has been transcribed for the flute with a new continuo part by the members of Aula Harmoniae.

The Church of the Transfiguration "The Little Church Around the Corner", proudly presents  BACHFEST: Cantata 147 "Herz und Mund und tat und Leben” and Brandenburg Concerto No.5 on Friday June 7th at 7:30 P.M. Claudia Dumschat conducts the Transfiguration Camerata with the Transfiguration Choir of Men and Boys and a virtuosic period instrument ensemble. The Concordia Camerata and Festival Choirs will be presenting a period performance of St. John Passion by Bach at the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts at Concordia College-New York in Bronxville.  Tickets are $25.

Conducted by Dr. Jason Thoms, Director of Choral Activities at Concordia College-New York, the orchestra will feature Baroque musicians from New York City, Boston, Washington DC, and Germany, and the Choir and soloists will consist of exceptional singers from Yale, McGill, Trinity Wall Street, and Boston, with David Kellett from Princeton as the Evangelist.

I will be playing the principal flute, so don't miss it!
