A program of French settings of Old Testament texts composed for the Royal Chapel of Versailles, including recently discovered motees by André Campra and selected Versets of François Couperin, along with instrumental works of Marin Marais, Jacques Hotteterre, and Couperin.  Repertoire once performed by relatives of the composers for the Sun King himself will be heard in the intimate sanctuary of the Huguenot Church.

-Aula Harmoniae continues its 2012 Fall Concert Season with Pleasures of the Late Late Baroque, a program filled with beauty, charm, and virtuosity of the late Baroque in France, Germany, and Spain.  Baroque flutist Sang Joon Park leads Aula Harmoniae and its distinguished members Martha McGaughey, viola da gamba, and Arthur Haas, harpsichord, performing the music of Carl Friedrich Abel, Joseph Bodin Boismortier, Pietro Antonio Locatelli and Jean-Philippe Rameau.  One of the highlights of the concert will be the U. S. premiere performance of the Flute Sonata by Spanish composer Antonio Rodil (c.1730-1787), first flutist and composer at the Royal Court of Lisbon (Portugal) during the reign of King Joseph I.  Another highlight of the concert, joined by soprano Soo Yeon Kim, will be the New York premiere performance of Cantada de Navidad (Christmas Cantata) by the Italian composer Francisco Corselli, Maestro de la Capilla of the King of Spain.  Originally written for soprano, flute obbligato, and chamber orchestra, this version was transcribed especially for Aula Harmoniae by its director, Sang Joon Park.

 -The Soul's Delight continues to celebrate the early and the late Italian Baroque with beautiful music of Tarquinio Merula, Girolamo Frescobaldi, and Alessandro Piccinini of the 17th Century; and Antonio Vivaldi, Nicola Porpora, Domenico Scarlatti, and Pietro Locatelli of the 18th Century.  One of the highlights of the concert will be the New York premiere* of Francesco Corselli's Cantada de Navidad.  Originally written for soprano, chamber orchestra, and flute obbligato, this version was transcribed especially for The Soul's Delight by Sang Joon Park.
